Dear GEMELA colleagues:

I would like to organize the following guaranteed special session for the
2014 RSA in New York (March 27-29) and am requesting papers that explore the
topic of Women's Eating Habits and Other Food Practices in Early Modern
Spain and the New World.

Topics may include but are not limited to:

- kitchen responsibilities

- dietary needs

- eating disorders

- gastronomic descriptions of women

- health and food manuals directed toward women

Please send an abstract (200 words) with a one-page CV to Carolyn Nadeau
(cnadeau at iwu.edu) by May 15.
