[Comedias] ATHE schedules THREE panels on Comedia for Orlando in August

The Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) has announced that its meeting in Orlando this August will feature THREE panels probing plays from the Spanish Golden Age:

 Ø  “Power Play:  Women to be Reckoned with from the Spanish Golden Age,” from 5:45-7:15 p.m. on Friday, August 2 (sponsored by the Women in Theatre focus group);

 Ø  “Re-Play:  Building Lope’s (small) New World for Florida’s Quincentennial,” from 8:00-9:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 4 (sponsored by the Dramaturgy focus group); and

 Ø  “History Play:  Resources for Teaching in Plays from the Spanish Golden Age,” from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4 (sponsored by the Theatre History focus group).

 All three panels are designed to feature brief position papers and guided discussion.

 YOU’RE INVITED to participate.

 For all panels, DEADLINE for submitting panelists’ names and their papers titles is the MAY 1.

N.B.:  ATHE has also invited Theater with a Mission to perform Lope’s (small) New World in a special showcase from noon till 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 3.  So there’s a three-day (as well as a three-panel) Comedia feast coming up in Orlando!
