[Comedias] Accepting Nominations for AHCT Treasurer Position

Dear AHCT Members:
The Board of Directors of the Association for Hispanic Classical Theater has called an election for Treasurer Elect. We are actively soliciting candidates for the position and encourage your active participation now. Nominations must be received by October 25, 2018.
AHCT Treasurer Position description
Manage all bank accounts.

  *   Main account (currently with BB&T).
  *   Check monthly statements from the bank.  BB&T offers on-line banking as well. Keep track of checks sent that must be countersigned by the president. All checks require two signatures.
  *   CD savings accounts (currently with OneAZ Credit Union, managed by Donald Dietz).
  *   Pay bills, usually with checks. As mentioned above, the AHCT board decided years ago to have all checks signed by both the president and the treasurer. The AHCT has a business debit card.  Both the president and treasurer currently have cards with their names on then in addition to the designation AHCT.
  *   Bills to be paid are documented in the Treasurer’s Report presented at the annual meeting of the board.  This includes conference expenses, the publication of Comedia Performance, and reimbursements to board members for any out-of-pocket expenses with AHCT approval.
Prepare reports.

  *   Annual Report to the AHCT Board for the annual meeting, calculated from the last annual meeting.
  *   IRS, annual report for the fiscal year used by the federal government, each year ending September 30.  Any funds taken in for the AHCT need to be counted as income.  This even includes the Comediantes Banquet during the MLA, for example.
  *   Monitor AHCT PayPal account as treasurer.  Dues, conference registration, donations constitute the principal amounts needed to be itemized. The Vice President in charge of tracking membership pays for PayPal with information from the business debit card.
Conference planning.

  *   Assist the president and vice presidents in planning the annual conference.  This may include special conferences, such as those held in the UK and Spain.
  *   Assist in setting budgets for conferences.
Necessary skills.

  *   Handling bank accounts, PayPal and filing with the IRS all require some computer skills. Currently, the treasurer has used the services of a CPA for the IRS annual filing.
