Dear GEMELA colleagues:
 
I am organizing the following guaranteed special session for the 2014 RSA in
New York (March 27-29). 
 
GEMELA is requesting papers to explore the topic of women as writers and
literary subjects in Early Modern Spain and Colonial Latin America. Topics
may include, but are not limited to: a) female authorship and the
examination of historical and literary narratives in the transatlantic
world; b) women's education and literacy; c) relationship between women's
possessions (manuscripts, tools, garments) and their cultural functions.
Please send a 200-word abstract with a brief CV to Margaret Boyle
(Margaret.boyle at bowdoin.edu) by May 15.
