Call for Papers:

International Conference
on
‘Medicine, Literature and Culture in the Early Modern Hispanic World’,

University of St Andrews,
Scotland, 3-5 July, 2017

Conference Aims:

To bring together experts in medicine, literature, history, and related or connected disciplines, including the visual arts, to share research and ideas with a focus on medicine and its role in the Spanish-speaking world in the fifteenth through eighteenth centuries.

The aim is also to foster an interdisciplinary approach to answering questions that have arisen in the research focus stated above, and propose future collaborations.

Dr Alexander Samson, University College London
Dr María Luz López-Terrada, INGENIO (CSIC - Universitat Politècnica de València)
Prof M. Pierre Civil, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3
Prof Christoph Strosetzki, Universität Münster

To propose a paper:

Topics from a wide range of perspectives and disciplines are welcome, provided they maintain their focus on medicine and the Spanish-speaking world in the fifteenth through eighteenth centuries. Papers may be given in English or Spanish.

Please send in a 200 word abstract, including title, in Microsoft Word format to Dr Ted Bergman: tb59 at st-andrews.ac.uk<mailto:tb59 at st-andrews.ac.uk>.

Panel proposals will also be considered.

Please be sure to include your name, title, institution and e-mail address in your proposal.
The deadline is 15 December, 2016.
