Dear comediantes:
On behalf of our research group I would like to extend an invitation to Spanish faculty members who may be interested in including Encina's carnival eclogue (Égloga representada la mesma noche de Antruejo) in their Fall classes. We are looking for feedback for materials we are creating. If you would like to use our materials, we believe the play would work extremely well in a theater survey course, cultural studies course or as an introductory piece to comedia studies (we've identified key elements of the comedia that are contained within the work), please let us know.

We would be able to provide you with a glossed text that is aimed at college students, pre-reading handouts to facilitate reading, research to help professors with their own lectures/presentations and sample activities for post-reading/discussion use. We would be able to send you these materials by August 15th. After using the materials, we would hope that you could provide us with feedback related to their quality/usefulness/etc.

At this moment, we have completed the materials in Spanish, but we will eventually have materials available in English for those teaching in theater (or other) departments.

Please feel free to respond to Benjamin Nelson (nelsonbe at uscb.edu<mailto:nelsonbe at uscb.edu>) if you are interested in using this in the Fall or if you desire additional information. And on behalf of Ben G., Ben N., Susan, Yuri and myself, please have a wonderful end of the semester and we look forward to hearing from you.
Kerry
