	We would like to invite all GEMELA members to propose possible themes and/or titles for the guaranteed session that we will have at the upcoming MLA convention in Chicago from 9-12 January 2014. The presidential theme for the convention is: “Vulnerable Times.”
	
	We have also accepted Barbara Simerka's invitation to co-sponsor a special session with the Division on Sixteenth-and Seventeenth-Century Spanish Drama.
	
	Once we receive your ideas and proposals the board will review them and decide on the composition and title of the guaranteed session, and we will then advertise the two calls for papers on the MLA webpage and circulate them to you.
	
	I would appreciate it if you could send your ideas to me by January 22.
