The Hispanic Literature division of the RSA and the Society of Renaissance and Baroque Hispanic Poetry are jointly sponsoring panels on:

Poetry and the City
This forum will explore poetry as a social practice that transcends the search of aristocratic status.  We invite submissions that examine the multiple roles of poetry in city life; urban themes and imagery; and poetry and the bourgeoisie. Please send 150-word abstracts and 1-page CVs to all three of the following by May 20, 2013: Laura Bass (Laura_Bass[at]brown.edu<mailto:Laura_Bass at brown.edu>), Ignacio Navarrete (ignacio[at]berkeley.edu) and Elizabeth Pettinaroli (pettinarolie[at]rhodes.edu.)
