Assistant or Associate Professor position in Spanish,
Texas Tech University, a research institution with over 32,000 students,
seeks an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Spanish to start Fall
2012. We are interested in hiring a dynamic individual to coordinate the
lower level program in Spanish. Preferred specialization would be in Second
Language Acquisition or Applied Linguistics, perhaps with a specialization
in Heritage speakers. Special consideration will be given to candidates with
an ability to teach in Portuguese Studies. Native or near-native fluency in
Spanish is required; responsibilities include an ongoing program of research
and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Preference will be
given to candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by
extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to
bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University. Service to the
department, college, and university is expected. Must have Ph.D. in hand by
