When I directed Life Is a Dream, I used a translation by Jo Clifford. It's also the translation I use in my theatre history class, and students who read this translation like the play. (The translation used in most theatre anthologies is horrible and students usually hate the play, if they read it in that tranlsation.)

Subject: [Comedias] La vida es sueno - Translation?

Dear All --
For an introductory theatre course for urban freshmen and sophomores this coming semester, I would like to use La vida es sueno. What is your favorite recent English translation of this play (that does not change the ending)? I just got this gig, which starts Jan. 3rd. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
