Duties: You will serve as Program Coordinator in Department of Foreign Languages (D/FL), developing and managing USMA cadet study abroad program. This program includes the Academy Exchange program, Semester Abroad program, Advance Individual Academic Development program and Foreign Military Development School program. Research/evaluate and advise the Dept Head on study opportunities for cadets at foreign academic institutions. Work in close coordination with the USMA Staff Judge Advocate, sister service academies, Combatant Commanders, US Defense Attache Offices and foreign military academies to negotiate and prepare Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) for the Superintendent. Coordinate with IIAD, cadet Academic Advisors, associated Directorates and other agencies for the selection process, administrative and academic requirements of USMA cadets for the various study abroad programs. Prepares, reviews, verifies, and submits all tuition, travel, and supply requests for the abroad programs.

About the Position: Located in the scenic Hudson River Valley, only 50 miles from New York City, the US Military Academy at West Point is a four-year academic institution, a nationally-renowned historic site, and the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. The undergraduates, known as cadets, are commissioned as officers in the US Army upon graduation. You can watch them in parades or competing as intercollegiate athletes in a wide range of sporting events. As a military installation, West Point is a small, self-contained city with housing for the military stationed here in support of the Academy, a Department of Public Works to maintain the roads, grounds and facilities, two libraries (Academic and Community), a military hospital, fire department, chapels, restaurants. West Points 3,000 civilian employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theatre, the Hudson Valley's premier performing arts center, and to recreational facilities such as an 18-hole Golf Course and Ski Slope.

*  Applicants for this position must show in their resume that they have one year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service that provided 1) Knowledge of the mission, and functions of the U.S. Military Academy, Office of the Dean, United States Corps of Cadets, and supported activities in order to monitor and manage the administrative requirements of the Academy Exchange program, Semester Abroad program, Advance Individual Academic Development program and Foreign Military Development School program. 2) Knowledge of the goals, objectives, staff composition, educational procedures and methods, course management practices, and cadet requirements and functions of the Department. 3) Knowledge of the process of coordinating domestic and foreign travel arrangements, including knowledge concerning visa requirements for student exchange programs in Foreign schools, country clearance requests, and financial transactions associated with student exchange programs.
*  GS-09: One year of experience directly related to the occupation equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; or Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; or equivalent combinations of experience and education.
*  The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.
*  Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time in Grade Restriction.

*  Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
