[Comedias] GEMELA 2009 MLA Sessions Call for Papers

Dear colleagues,

GEMELA, Grupo de Estudios sobre la Mujer en España y las Américas
(pre-1800), is requesting papers for the sessions to be held at the
2009 MLA conference on the following topics:

1. Monastic Writings: In and Beyond the Convent

Submissions invited on writing in/beyond the convent, including:
hagiography, auto/biography, poetry, drama, fiction, letters,
foundational narratives.

2. Teaching Early Modern & Colonial Women (roundtable) 

Submissions invited on theoretical and practical considerations for
teaching early modern and colonial women from Europe and the Americas.

Send 1-page abstract and 2-page C.V. to: Bonnie Gasior <bgasior at
csulb.edu>. Deadline March 1.
