Reminder: The AHCT budget depends almost entirely on members' dues, which
support the annual conference, the video library, the Comedia Bulletin Board, the AHCT web site, the biannual newsletter,

Spanish Golden Age Theater Symposium,

& Awards: Congratulations
to the Committee for Production in Translation, and especially to committee
chair, Susan Paun de García, for their success in obtaining a $3,000
grant from the Spanish Ministry for Cultural Cooperation. The grant has been used to fund the AHCT
Franklin Smith Translation Award of $1,000, given to Catherine Larson for her
translation of María de Zayas’s Friendship Betrayed, and
the AHCT Walker Reid Award of $2,000, given in support of David Pasto’s
AHCT

Performance: As noted in the
September newsletter, AHCT board member,
Barbara Mujica, of
Appeal
for Information for the “Comedia in Translation” Website: Susan Paun de García, Chair of
the Production in Translation Committee, requests information about comedias
performed in English, which members have seen or in which they have been
involved. Playbills are preferable,
but even basic details (playwright, title, company, director, place, dates)
would be welcome. Bibliographic
citations for members’ publications in English about the comedia
are also welcome as are synopses in English of plays. The URL for the site is http://www.denison.edu/comedia/. Information should be sent directly to

Information: The mailing
label on the newsletter will verify your dues status. The date by your name shows the end of
the period for which membership has been paid (e.g., 3/03 = dues paid through
March 2003). To keep your
membership current and to help us keep our records accurate, please send dues
and report corrections or changes in your address and affiliation to Anita
Stoll (address below). To simplify
payment, please feel free to pay for more than one year ahead.
